my g/f has two kids... and i want to take her on a ONE week vacation....?

I would love to take my g/f on vacation next week.
We booked our flights... but now... we have to break the news to her two kids... 10 and 7.
Uhhhhh...... they are NOT going... grandma and grandpa are taking care of them... as well as my g/f's X husband. Any suggestions on how to make this "announcement" smooth? thanks for your input....
i am not worried about them missing me ! i was more concerned about them missing their mother ! lol .... on that note... they have been given a few subtle hints that we were looking to go away... and that because their mother hasn't been on a REAL vacation for almost a decade... that this would a much needed vacation for her....
lol... some of you are TOO much ! lol
she has an X husband... i would never take a married woman away.. from her kids... nor her grandparents.. nor her HUSBAND ! lol
 
Don't know the exact situation, but the kids should be really glad to be with the grandparents for a week. It's after ward that you have to start explaining.The ex is supposed to be an ex, he's a non entity. It's great that you are taking every bodies feelings into account. Try to concentrate on yours and your GF's feelings for just one week.
 
You have something to look forward to .
They dont.
How do u expect them to take it.
You will need to do something for them also, to ease that. Think of an idea they can do that they will have fun with while u are away.
At least they will have something to look forward too like you do.
You need to think of them, they are part of your life now and can not exclude them completly like dumping them at the grandparents. Give them someting to do wile u are away.
 
i'm thinking you should tell them SOON - like tomorrow. be upbeat and honest about it.
that you will miss them and still hope they have a great time with their grandparents and father.
if you can send pics email - that would be great - if not, try calling a few times during the week.
 
say that your going on a trip for a little & you will be back in no time with a surprise for them if they dont cry , start whining , and if they behave good.
and jus get them a little cheap souvenir
 
it is not good on yu part to take to vacation for one week of someones wife and leaving the kids and her husband and enjoying with her.better drop that idea and go for another who is unmarried or yu own wife.
