My gadget shows that I have 3069 MB of RAM available, this is incorrect. What could

be causing this difference? Now, I have had to reset (system/HDD Wipe) my computer after a graphics card update (from a nVidia 8500 to a Radeon HD4670) and some run ins with some malware.

My set-up is as Follows:

AMD Phenom 9500 Quadcore
2 sticks of RAM at 1GB each
2 Sticks of RAM at 512 MB each(all sticks are DDR2 and otherwise Identical)
Radeon HD4670

The exact same gadget (All CPU meter from Allgadget.com) was installed both before and after the wipe and registered the correct amount of RAM before.

I check on my processes but nothing seems out of the ordinary. The RAM reads completely fine here, coming in at 3072 MB. I've run an Antivirus, but nothing shows up (Avast! Home edition) and Comodo has only just recently picked up a Buffer Overflow from an Install of a game using msiexec.exe.

I am at a complete loss at what to do here; does anyone know any possible culprits?
3MB is more than enough for some malware to go about it's malevolent business. The fact that my Gadget picks up the discrepancy and not my task manager is cause for concern, because most malware tries to hide from the processes menu, but it is rarely designed to hide from little else.
*sigh* A conniption fit is not what I am experiencing right now. I usually know my way around a computer; my OS and Motherboard support more than 3GB of RAM. Honestly, I would suspect a more mature attitude from the users of site...

This is more like a simple inquiry; I gave my best to divulge as much information as possible with my "problem"; I stated my concerns, I stated my reasoning for such concerns, and I elaborated when I felt I was not clear enough.

If this does not illicit a serious response... I know not of what will.
Thank you, for your concern.

Thank you for your input.

Thank you for correcting my Grammar mistake.

Thank you for pointing out your credentials. I appreciate that little tidbit of information.

However, I wish that I had never asked this question in the first place. I know you are not compensated for your answer; so I am in no place to demand anything from anyone.

Still, You call me "pissy" and say I've had a "conniption fit" when I simply asked a question?! Where is the logic in that? Come across anyone in the street and call them pissy for no discerning reason and you will get much more than a dissatisfied look cast upon you!

I'll solve this myself; I don't need attitude from a faceless entity on the internet.

1 + 1 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 3
i dont see what the problem is if it says 3gb
