So I've had Leo, my German Shep pup for give or take 5 weeks now. He loves me to death and I love him. But for some reason the past couple of days, we'll be sitting in the living room, he's on my lap or on the carpet or whatever and he'll just bust out with a loud crying for about 10 seconds then stop. I'm beginning to think that he's Bi-Polar... I thought at first maybe he hurt something and was just reacting to laying on it or me touching it. So I did a little exam, as it were, and felt around. I looked for any lumps, bumps, etc. No broken bones and nothing I did made him yelp while poking at him. I playfully (and gently) tugged his front and hind legs and he didn't cry at all and I felt his ribs to make sure all were in tact. I dunno what's wrong with him or am I just overworrying and he's just a big cry baby?

well, he's just a puppy.. maybe he misses his mommy, or siblings? it's possible. or maybe, all he wants is a bit of attention at the moment..?
if he whines while looking at you, it can be a plead for attention..or also food..or to go outside..

German Shepard's are descendants of wolves. They are very social animals and need constant attention. More than a human. Check on this. If your cell phone battery is low and it beeps, or your smoke detector has a low battery is low, he may hear it and go nuts. check those things. Also the neighbors. Dogs hear better than us unless exposed to gunfire . etc. you touching him is good. they need that. Maybe next time ash him to find the noise.

aw. that's good that u checked him out for physical distress, but if he keeps it up, def ask a vet!!!
