The salon I go to isn't cheap, but reasonable. It really depends on how much would be done to her hair.
Having just a few highlights put in is only about 60$. A simple cut runs me 45$. Further highlights/lowlights you can expect to pay at least 100$. (These prices do not include tip)
Obviously it depends where you are... I'm in the metro Detroit area. But it also widely varies from salon to salon.

One question you may want to keep in mind.... does she have a regular hairdresser already? If so- go to her. Most ladies only trust one or two people to touch their tresses.

highlights at discount salons are 50+ doallars for a half head, about the same for a single color. you get more bang for your buck with a dual or triple weave.

if you want to give a cut 25+ will probably do otherwise try at least 50 for any color service.
