my home theater subwoofer doesn't work?

i have phillips hts3544 when i try to connect it to the radio it has no sound but when i put it into another jack it works but i need the subwoofer because that's where all the bass comes from. any body have an idea on how to fix it? (the jack)
 
You can remove the broken jack and replace it with a .99 jack from Radio Shack, but first make sure it is actually the Jack and not a bad connection. Try another speaker with that particular Jack, if the speaker doesn't work then its the Jack, if it does work then its the speaker, either there is not enough ohms being put out by the radio to operate the speaker or the speaker itself may be afoul. Either way it may be necessary to have someone knowledgeable in electronics to repair your radio and tell you exactly what needs to be done to fix the problem.
