my internet is being DUMB?!?!?

Okay so my internet was acting up and didnt work so today my dad did something so that we can go on the web again... blah blah blah
but the only way we can do it is if we go to
"Start" then click "Search" and type in the address bar where we wanna go
i.e, www.myspace.com

i wanna be able to just click
INTERNET EXPLORER
help meeeeeee ;[

Go to the microsoft website and reinstall IE. Also, make sure all of your microsoft updates have been completed. There have been several the last few weeks.
