hello, i rebooted windows 2000 professional at my schools computer and everything went well. Now, there is like no internet access. That symbol thats like next to the time which looks like two tv screens isnt there. (that usually blinks when the internet is working). that thingi isnt even there. i really dont know what the problem is. We use an ethernet connection. Please help. tell me anything that will help

reboot means restart
if you reinstalled your os you need your network drivers from your computers website

YOU NEED TO RE INSTALL THE ETHERNET DRIVER TO YOUR COMPUTER had you told us the make and model of your computer we could have given you a direct link to its driver

First of all, why would you reboot a school computer? You're really not supposed to do that. That's not your property, it's theirs.

If you were running a wireless connection, I would have an answer for you, but I've never had a problem with a wired connection that didn't involve "oh whoops the cable is unplugged"

The only thing to do is ask for help from one of the library staff members. Hopefully they'll have an IT guy there they can talk to.
