My ipod touch won't restore.. It fully loads then nothing happens?

Okay, so yesterday I bought the 2.2 software from iTunes store, and after it downloaded and upgraded on my iPod, I plug my iPod in and iTunes says that it is in recovery mode and needs to be restored before I can use it. So I click on restore and the bar loads fully, but when it reaches the end nothing happens at all..
When I unplug my iPod, it tells me iPod has failed to restore..
I have the latest iTunes version.
