My iPod's internet cuts out very often.?

I'll be watching a youtube video on my iPod and the video will suddenly pause and stop rendering, usually the only way to fix this is to put my iPod in airplane mode and then take it back out. That sometimes fixes it for several hours, sometimes only a couple minutes, sometimes it doesn't fix it at all, sometimes I have to completely unplug and re-plug my router just to fix the iPod even though the internet is working perfectly fine on my computer. Last night unplugging the router didn't work, I simply had to wait 30 minutes for the iPod to start working again.
Any ideas?
It almost never happens on my computer.
