My itouch 4 sound quality with headphones/earphones are bad/staticy?

Okay so i have a itouch 4 and i thought it was my earphones that were weird and bad but yesterday i got a dr beats studio and it sounds the same.. it stat-icy and bad quality UNLESS i i move the cord or plug it a little out than the sound quality is okay.. I also jailbreak mine if it matter but i didn't have this problem till now like 2weeks ago n i got this awhile ago when it came out..
 
Probably a short in the headphone connector unless you get the same problem through the speakers.
