My laptop's "My Computer" can't detect the cd driver, HELP !?

I'm using hp pavilion dv2000, I've had the same problem last year.. I send it for service and they reinstalled a new cd driver to my laptop and it cost A LOT O.O and nowww, i have the same problem -.- my laptop's 'my computer' can't detect the cd driver, but when i insert a dvd, the disc still spin and the yellow-ish light will appear for sometime, but nothing will happen. If I open the quickplay, it'll say please insert dvd. Can somebody PLEASE PLEASE help me?? D: my mother is sooo going to kill me if I tell her that my cd driver is not working again T.T
