My Lexus es300 would not start?

I tried to start my 1998 Lexus ES300, it does not start fully. The engine runs for half a second, but it just does not persist at all. I just put new fuel inside, still the engine just runs for half a second. The check engine light, battery, and oil light is on. The battery seem ok as AC,radio, and headlights all work.

Please help me out.

Are those lights on when the engine is running? or when the engine is not running but the key is in the on position?

if they are all on during the engine running, how long have those lights been turning on?
the oil light is a bad light.

How long has it been on?
last time you changed oil?
have your car towed to a mechanic or have a neighbor look at it.

Start small, replace the fuel filter. If that does not fix it you are going to have to get a tool to read your codes. It is just the way cars are now, have to have a computer to read a computer.


Ex-Napa Manager, 40 years auto repair.
