My lighter is smoking. Is that bad?

I just tried to ignite it and smoke came out. I tried it again, and that time it actually lit but there were a few sparks. Is this bad?
 
Are you talking about your car cigarette lighter? If so the only problem is that some of the tobacco got stuck in the spring like coil. You shouldn't have to worry about it but you can clean it out after the coil has cooled down. z
 
If it is smoking just don't hang around it and you will be fine.
