Hi, i have 2 budgies. an male and female. the males a bit older and the females about 3 months old. the male has just started trying to mate with his bell and ignoring his the female. They do like each other and i saw the male feeding her but he seems to be more interested in his bell then her and i really want to breed them!!! If i take his bell out he gets really sad and i feel sooo mean! What should i do!?????

She's very young, so I wouldn't try breeding them as soon as she can produce eggs. There are probably some breeders out there who have pages on what to do, you can always Google it. :)

I heard birds in the mating season can be very unfussy. If you go to an owl park at the right time of year then the male owls flying might be mating with the gloves. You could take his bell out and put some food in, hopefully it'll keep him occupied and he might forget.

Get a book it will tell you the average age for breeding and follow it but the mirror doesn't hurt anything.
Just leave it there.
