My Mercedes Sunroof is stuck/jammed? Idk what exactly?

soo....my 2002 c230 sunroof is stuck. It's been working fine, except maybe a few months ago it started only going back in increments but it would go all the way back no issue. But today it wouldn't come forward after being opened for all of 10 minutes.

I went to close it and it just made this awful sound, but I had to get it closed so I just kept on pushing the button and trying to help it with my hand. I got it mostly closed. It came all the way forward and is up around 1/2 inch in the back.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions how to fix it? or approx. how much it would cost to have it fixed.

OMG SO IS MINE!

its a common problem with the 2002...

you have to take it to a auto body shop, not an expensive dealership though....actually for the 2002 its a defect so they HAVE to fix it FOR FREE!! woohooo so take it to a dealership and get it fixed

mine stayed open! i couldnt close it at all and it was raining! Dont ask me why my BF thought he would open it in the rain!!!! wtf was that ,I dont know.
 
Well, lets just say it's not going to be cheap being that it's a Mercedes. It sounds like the motor went out in it. You can call a dealership to get an est.
 
you can close and open manually with a tool you should have inside the glove box or trunk, like an alen nut wrench and it goes into a hole in the roof and spins manually ad is used when the motor is not working,

check manual for the location of where you put the tool
 
Sounds like a motor or switch issue, ur going to have to go 2 Benz and have them tell you how much, Hope you had a extended warranty
