My Microsoft word is saving but it's extremely slow, What can I do to speed it up?

I'm using Windows Vista w/ Microsoft word 2007. I've noticed that when I save any document or even move/organize a file, it'll say not responding in the case of saving and then after several minutes it'll save or move the file. Any suggestions of how this can be repaired?

How much ram does your system have or is your drive space low? You should have at least 2 gigs of ram for your computer to run normally (speed wise) If your drive space is low (roughly less than 20% of the total space on the drive, the system will respond slowly also.
