My neighbor's truck just got repossessed, but from where it was parked, they...

...had to come across my property? They entered my driveway, went around my house, driving more than 200-250 feet across my yard, before entering a beautiful walking trail that I had been working on for years in order to restore it's natural beauty after it was devastated during the hurricane's Rita and Katrina, and a few other small tropical storms in recent years. For the last 2 springs, and 3 falls, I have been working on properly grooming and planting of trees, shrubs, berry vines and fruit barring trees, in order to maintain a healthy diet for the large wildlife populations in the area. The worse part of the whole thing is that I was outside trying to work with the guy to get the truck out of the woods behind me, and when I ask him to stop and do something else to get it out, he refused and drove right down the middle of my wildlife trail, completely destroying the entire trail with a big wrecker truck. He then hooked up to the truck which had no tires or wheels on the rear end of the truck, dragging it straight back down the middle of my wildlife trail again and also dragging it halfway across my yard, ripping the grass and dirt up for approx. 50-75 feet, digging down about 4-8 inches. He then stopped in the middle of the yard hooked on to the truck properly, and then as he pulled off he handed me a business card, and told me to get a lawyer, and if I did get a lawyer he would say that I was threatening to kill him with a gun, or my wife had a gun drawn down on him, but the fact is, she was at work at this time.
I would really like to be reimbursed for all the time and effort that went in to creating this wildlife trail, and would love to see a large sum of the money back that I had invested in this project, or preferably paid back in full.
What can I do about this? Is it more trouble than it is worth to file suit against him? Would he be able to lie, and say my wife or someone else had a gun on him? If he did lie, would it get me or my family in trouble?
Can someone please help with this, it has really gone to far, and I am unable to work at the moment, but I would greatly appreciate a professional opinion, What legal options do I have?
