My new radio statics when I listen to my iPhone's music, why is this?

Best buy installed a JVC radio with one of the features having a USB slot. It is for iPod/iPhones. When I plug my iPhone in, the music plays but it randomly statics at different points. Does anyone know why it does this or how I can stop it??
