My new xbox 360 elite exiting my game and sending me to the dashboard?

i have had my new xbox 360 elite 120gb for a week now and today when i was playing battlefield bad company 2 online after about a few minutes the screen went black then i saw the xbox 360 dashboard. so i went on again and after about an hour the same thing happened, it exited me to the dashboard for no reason??
does anybody know why this happens and what i should do??

p.s.- the whole week it was fine, it just happened twice today??
my xbox does not turn off and turn back on to the dashboard it just exits my game and the dashboard pops up in a couple of seconds

That has happened to me too. but only with Battlefield Bad Company 2. I think it just lags you out. and for some reason you go to the Dashboard
