still travel internationally? Sweden has my passport since I am applying for residence status (I am moving there with my significant other

I still want to be able to travel. I am a U.S. citizen. Is there any way I can still travel internationally? Like get a temporary passpoirt or something like that? How would I go about getting one of these?
