My pyramid tracker is contradicting itself, can someone who knows nutrition help me?

Ok I've been using mypyramidtracker.gov to help see if I'm eating well. It tells me "I'm at risk of being overweight" eat I'm eating 800 less calories than is recommended? Today i ate 1325 calories and my recommendation is 2116. How does this make any sense?

MPT does not have a lot of things I eat so I usually find other things that are the same nutrient-wise so I know it's not exactly correct, but this is just contradicting itself.

*** I'm putting this here because a lot of people in this section know a good deal about nutrition and the diet and fitness section is moving really quickly. Plus I'm a vegan, so it all works ;)
I probably eat more than 1325 calories, I just can't find most of the food I eat on MPT.

I'm not sure why it's contradicting itself, it doesn't really make sense. Maybe it's because you are unable to enter the actual foods you're eating and it thinks that you're consuming too much of the wrong food???

I find that counting calories is not nearly as important or meaningful as just eating a well balanced diet all around. Since you're vegan you probably already know I decent amount about nutrition. If you waste time worrying about calorie counting then you're wasting time and energy that could be spent on preparing and consuming delicious food!

There are so many foods that are filling and very low in calories, if you're trying to lose weight. Fruits, veggies, nuts (in moderation), beans, lentils....

The food guide pyramid is very inaccurate. There are not very many people who need over 2000 calories per day. 1325 is also too low. Go for 1500-1600 per day.
