Hi I bought a bunny about a week ago and he was fine when we first got him now for about the last three days he has not eaten alot and he has a very bad odor and he has diareah. Is there something that I am doing wrong? I let him out of the cage tonight to run around the basement and he is very hyper. I rinsed his but off with water where he had it all over him. Please help me I do not want anything to happen to him. Thank you

bring him to a pet store and ask the ppl to check him out ect. if u got money go to a vet but ig it's nothing i wouldnt want to spend money on the vet

The rabbit needs to see a vet ASAP. A rabbit condition can deteriorate very quickly. Not eating/drinking combined with diarrhea will make your rabbit dehydrate and that can kill them within a couple of days.

I agree with the NO treats, etc. and you need to keep them eating hay (depending on age is whether you give timothy or alfalfa I think.) and make sure that it has fresh clean water in a bowl NOT one of those drinking containers that hangs on the cage.

A vet is what you need though.

If you bought it from a pet store then let this be a lesson to not do that again. A breeder can send a sick rabbit too but a responsible breeder would be able to and would happily help you in answering these questions.

Stop feeding your rabbit treats, fruits and veggies immediately. Put your rabbit on Timothy hay and give him fresh water until you can see your vet - with a little pellet.

Please call the Vet first thing in the morning. Diarrhea can be caused from eating foods that are bad for the rabbit and can be caused by GI stasis.

Don't bathe your rabbit, especially under the circumstances - him being ill right now. A bath can cause stress and shock to his system in this state. Just wipe his bum with a damp cloth and dry.
