It has never hurt, but I've noticed for the longest time that it has done it. I am also a somewhat serious cyclist in the summer, and I've noticed that it does NOT crack when I'm cycling, almost like the muscles are keeping the knee cap in a proper place? But I can almost guarantee you can hear it when I'm going up stairs. I'm just wondering what can I do to help this seeing as how I'm only 23, I don't want to be 40 with knee surgery's and keeping me from passionate knee athletic-ness that I love (that made sense right?) like cycling, martial arts, etc.
I know fish oil helps joints or so I've heard, and I already pop those twice at night so what else???? Exercises, diet, should I meet with a Ortho-Doc and see what he says? Are there preventional surgery's?
I'll also edit that its almost like a grinding, rather than a single crack. Its kinda gross describing it like that now. :[
