My Samsung Acclaim has troubles when under 15% battery?

When i try to turn the screen on when i have under 15% battery, it takes about 3,293 times to press any button before i can get the screen to turn on to unlock my phone. Is there any way i can adjust any settings or anything so it turns on like normal?
 
Maybe look at your battery settings, just snoop around in your phone, it will probably stand out..
