My scanner came with a photoshop serial number ,but how do I redeem it?

It's for Photoshop Elements 4.0, and the photoshop website only allows you to download 7.0. Is there any way for my to get 4.0, because i'm pretty sure it's not on the CD, only the number is given.
 
You might be able to find on the adobe website a previous version of the program. If not, then if the promotion allows it, you can call the company and receive a serial number for the most recent version of the program.

Also, you might be able to request that version of the program if you email adobe.
