...her more friendly? I have a 9 year old shih tzu that I adopted from a person that couldn't take care of her anymore. Whenever we go for a walk and we come across another dog, as usual, the dog sniffs her. Then my shih tzu starts growling, biting, and baring her teeth. I'm thinking her old owner didn't socialize her. She doesn't come to them, but whenever THEY come to her, she acts up. Before, she started to fight like a crazy dog, but now she's a bit better. She just growls in their faces and bares her teeth. Does anyone have tips on how to make her friendlier?
Also, my neighbor has a puppy mill rescue and it took him 2 years to socialize her! We had our shih tzu for about 2 years and she's still not very socialized. She also isn't very friendly to humans, she bit a 5 year old! And when my friend comes over, she growls at her as if they're enemies!
