my son complains of knee pains is it his acl?

my son has been complaining for a while that his knee hurts and we dont know what to do its been hurting him for about a month and when i look at it its swoolen is it his acl thats were its swollen and please dont say take him to the doctors.
and he has a scar near it help him please give us advice thanks by
