My Sony Ericsson Satio won't connect to PC Suite.?

I'm trying to connect my phone to my laptop to send files to and from the memory storage, but I can't make the phone visible on either My Computer or the Sony Ericsson PC Suite...
Any ideas as to how I can make this work? Any advice appreciated ...
