My truck makes a high pitch whine when I press the gas while driving.?

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi. Lately I have been having an issue with the engine. When I press the gas to drive I hear a high pitched whine. Any ideas on what it could be? And how much do think fixing it will cost me?
