I changed the coolant and fixed the leak. Now the tempature gage will barley or not even move at all? What is the probloem? Did I cook the thermostat? If I look closely that temp gage it will move but just a hair.
Sounds like you're in-line for a fresh new thermostat. It may be stuck open or the gage is reading improperly. Grab the upper radiator hose after a five mile drive. It should be too hot to grab. If it's luke warm and you're getting little heat from your heater the thermostat needs changing.
If the upper hose is hotter than a son of a gun the temperature sending unit must be shot.
First of all 210F isn't all that hot,if your think about it most people run a thermostat with a 195 F temperature, so that means that you thermostat most reach 195F before the thermostat is going to open up. If you never got it over 210F you haven't hurt any thing , sounds like you need to check the wire that's going to the temperature sensor,
the thermostat is probably stuck in the open position id try replacing it,if it doesn't move any at all it usually just the thermostat, they are supposed to be replaced every two years whether they need it or not but no one ever replaces them unless they actually give a problem, good luck with it.
