My Verizon phone is messed up and my contract isn't up for another year...?

I've had problems with the phone since day one and I've had it replaced several times, and I'm just sick of it. I'm looking at phones on ebay for Verizon, but since I still have a year on my contract do I get a contracted phone or a phone without a contract?
