My VW Passat wont play music on CD's....?

I have a 2001 VW Passat, and it has a standard VW single CD Player in the dash. But I have recently downloaded (legally!) some music in MP3 format, and burnt it on to CD to play in my car.

But for some reason the CD player wont pick up any of the tracks.....

Can anyone suggest a way around this, or a format I should burn them on. I've tried burning on a CD/R disc, and also a DVD/R.
 
You need to convert the tracks from MP3 format to normal CD format, your player wont read mp3 files even though there on a cd, Windows media player will do this for you, find the tab that says "convert tracks to play on cd" (or something similar) you will see them converting then when complete just use the burn tab also in media player and your set to go,,,
