Perry Jones III has seen his stock fall in recent months. And now there’s more bad news that will make his stock fall even further. The bigman out of Baylor reported has a knee issue that has caused several teams to red flag him. Instead of being picked in the lottery, it now sounds like Jones will get selected around 20 — or worse.
The knee issue is said to be meniscus related. Since meniscus injuries have taken down plenty of NBA hopefuls in the past, NBA teams are really weary about such knee issues.
As a sophomore at Baylor, Jones averaged 13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds. While those stats look solid, they were disappointing for him. He’s extremely skilled but his motor is a question mark and he showed little to no improvement from his freshman to sophomore year.
While it’s unlikely, this Perry Jones III red flag may cause he to drop all the way into the second round. Stay tuned.
