With the second round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs about to begin, let’s take a look at an updated NBA power rankings. This is the list of the best NBA teams in order — 1 through 8. While any team could theoretically win the championship, expect one of the top four teams to eventually take home the Larry O’Brien trophy.
First of all, here are our series predictions.

Without further ado, here is our 2011 NBA Power Rankings at the current moment:
1. Los Angeles Lakers
The defending champs look primed for a three-peat.
2. Miami Heat
The Miami Thrice have the highest ceiling.
3. Boston Celtics
Could the Celtics be finding their groove at the right time?
4. Chicago Bulls
Are the Bulls showing chinks in the armor?
5. Oklahoma City Thunder
Are the Thunder too young to legitimately compete?
6. Dallas Mavericks
Can the Mavs finally peak in the playoffs?
7. Memphis Grizzlies
Was their first round play a fluke?
8. Atlanta Hawks
It’s probably another two rounds and out year for ATL.
