I just bought a new Samsung und7000 46 inch 3d TV with a Samsung 3d blue ray player. Was thinking about buying a home theater. Never had home theater before and need some advice.
Can I buy any system or Samsung only?
I am leaning more towards the sound bar option instead of having a lot of speaker around my living room.
I am not looking for too much sound, but can’t have the output from the TV only.
I am looking to spend no more than $300
What exactly does it mean 5.1, 3.1 or 2.1 which a lot of sound bars have.
I don’t have anything else besides the TV and the blue ray player at the moment, but thinking about getting dish network in the near future and wanted to know if that will interfere with sound bar option that I am leaning towards.
If you think sound bar is not a good option, please suggest all other options.

Keep in mind I am not very technical and please be clear when explain.

Thank you in advance.

It is going to be hard to find a system for the budget you have. Those home theater in a box are not very reliable, and they come with a DVD or a blu ray disc player which you already have. Your other choice would be a sound bar or a receiver with with speakers. The sound bar does not really make the sound realistic for the back channel with the speakers all up front. The only system that I can recommend is the Onkyo HT-S3400, it is a 5.1 receiver with a set of speakers. Demo the system at any Fry's Electronic, the price is under $400. Hope this will help you out.
