Okay so the question reads:

"The product of two whole numbers is 360 and their sum is less than 100. What are the possibilities for the two numbers?"

So I am confused, both numbers together equal 360. Or are there separate numbers and what is the 100 supposed to do?

Multiplied together, they equal 360. Added, less than 100. Help any?

4 * 90
5 * 72
6 * 60
8 * 45
9 * 40
10 * 36
12 * 30
15 * 24
20 * 18

start a problem like this by factoring 360 =
2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 5.

the first two, 2 x (2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 5) = 2 x 180
and 3 x (2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5) = 3 x 120
don't work because the two whole numbers add up to more than 100.

start with (2 x 2) x (2 x 3 x 3 x 5) = 4 x 90; 4 + 90 = 94
and continue to cover the rest of the possibilities.
