Need help w/ my 95 VW GTI VR6?

I just bought a 1995 GTI VR6, the guy who sold it to me told me that he thought it needed a new tranny, cause you put it in first and drive but drives like your starting out in 3rd or 4th gear.

I tried to put it in reverse and the car went foward! He told me that he just replaced the clutch and the guy was really having a hard time doing the job, and maybe he put it together wrong.

What do you think??

listen bro if i were you i would not believe him jus change the transmition it will more money but better safe than sorry and besides you could probly find it anywhere
