Need help with internet explorer and mozilla issue plz?

my friend uses wifi at work. and she can get onto yahoo chat messenger and myspace chat just fine. But when she loads internet explorer or mozilla, it won't load any webpages. Also the internet connection does say local and internet so she's connected fine.

Any ideas please on how to trouble shoot and get the browsers to work?
