Theme Gender and Sexuality? For my English Literature class, I have to write an essay on the theme Gender and Sexuality analyzing these works of literature that I've read into my essay in the body paragraphs:

"Saplings from the Storm" - Mary Pipher
"Inside the World of Boys: Behind the Mask of Masculinity" - William Pollack
"No Name Woman" - Maxine Hong Kinston
"Woman as Other" - Simone de Beauvoir
"Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day?" - William Shakespeare
"Let Me Not to the Marriage of True Minds" - William Shakespeare
"To His Coy Mistress" - Andrew Marvell
"Tonight I Can Write" - Pablo Neruda
"Barbie Doll" - Marge Piercy
"Hills Like White Elephants" - Ernest Hemingway

and since Gender and Sexuality relates to Psychology and Sociology rather than English Literature, I'm really struggling trying to write my Introduction and Conclusion paragraphs since I don't have any other ideas to add on for either of them to make them longer so they are no long enough yet. Here is what I have written down so far for my Introduction and Conclusion paragraphs:

Introduction: Gender and sexuality is one of the many themes in literature that have been created. Gender and sexuality has also influenced literature throughout the ages. Throughout the past, reading and writing has been considered a male domain due to women unable to get a good education. During the Shakespearean times, women appearing on stage have been considered to be dishonorable. As a result of that, the portrayals of women have been played by men predominantly. This reinforces the position of women in that society in which they have ‘no voice.’ Many works of literature written have gender and sexuality included in them, including: “Saplings from the Storm” by Mary Pipher, “Inside the World of Boys: Behind the Mask of Masculinity” by William Pollack, “No Name Woman” by Maxine Hong Kingston, “Woman as Other” by Simone de Beauvoir, “Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day?” by William Shakespeare, “Let Me Not to the Marriage of True Minds” by William Shakespeare, “To His Coy Mistress” by Andrew Marvell, “Tonight I Can Write” by Pablo Neruda, “Barbie Doll” by Marge Piercy, and “Hills Like White Elephants” by Ernest Hemingway.

Conclusion: Literature reinforces the position of women as objects of male desire, mother, and nurturer. Many modern texts address the inequalities inherent in literature’s history.

Since I don't have any other ideas to add on to either of these two paragraphs to make them longer, if anyone does and can help me out by giving me some, I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much. Since I'm analyzing works of literature, everything I write have to be in the present tense by the way.

i do not think anyone here in yahoo answers can do it for you and moreover answering such complex questions require deep analysis of theories and research done by others inorder to get a good grade. it is more useful if you use some website like fastcustomessays.com for such task, which i used for mine but remember that it is highly recommend to write your own paper iff you have enough time and knowledge otherwise itz okay to use such helps from these experts. One aspect that i am sure abt this company is that they will nevr disappoint you because i know so many mates using such helps and getting pretty gud marks on their papers.

Your thesis needs to be more coherant. Your argument is not very clear and i didn't know what it was until i read your conclusion. What i think you're trying to say is because of the patriarchal society that was present, composers have treated women in an unfavourable manner. By modern day standards, the treatment of women in such a manner would be deemed sexist.

What i think you should have done was divided your essay into themes, like the ones you wrote in your final paragraph: "male desire, mother and nurturer". Then in your introduction, you can discuss and explain each of these themes. Hence instead of just listing your texts, you can do something like: theme.... explaination of theme... list texts which have relevant themes in it.

Your introduction does not need to be long. It needs to be concise and answer the question. After writing the intro, writing the conclusion is easy. You just need to restate what was said in the intro.

Also, note: a VERY good word to use is patriarchal (dominated by men), for example, a patriarchal society.
