My fiances birthday is this coming weekend, i want to make him the best dinner he has ever had, could some of you share some of your favorite dinners, i wan this to be a big dinner please and thank you
 
This is my favorite recipe to impress guests - and it always works:

London Broil with Red Wine and Mushroom Sauce

2 lbs. top round (London Broil) - trimmed of fat
unflavored meat tenderizer - to coat
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 Tbls. lemon juice - preferably fresh
2 Tbls. minced garlic
2 tsp. tarragon vinegar
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1 Tbls. olive oil
1 cup red wine
2 cups beef broth
1 Tbls. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. dried rosemary - crushed
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
salt - to taste

Lamb Shanks: -Braised

4 Lamb shanks
2 Onions, chopped
2 Carrots, peeled and chopped
2 Garlic cloves, crushed
2 packets roast minted meat gravy mix
1C Red wine
½C Water
3 T Tomato paste
1t Dried thyme
Freshly ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 160°C.
Colour 4 Lamb Shanks in some oil in a frying pan and transfer to an oven dish. (One at a time)
Place lamb shanks, onion and garlic in a casserole dish. Combine remaining ingredients, except pepper, and pour over lamb shanks.
Cover the casserole dish. Cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until the lamb is very tender. Stir once during cooking after about 1 hour.
Season with black pepper before serving.
Serve with mashed potatoes and green peas
