need some help with google chrome?

I downloaded google chrome a couple of days ago and at first it was all fine and dandy and now my theme has gone. I don't understand what has happened, it still appears above the browser on the toolbar, but as for the new tabs page and apps page, it is completely blank. Also I was wondering was there any way I could set the apps page to my homepage instead of the new tabs page as it was set like this before and all of a sudden it's not doing it anymore :s
