wow.. intresting blog.. my aunt used to live around weiner dogs and she was going to poison them too.. they always would bark and carry-on all nite! but she just decided to move into the country and build a brand new house! now she is pretty happy!

All of you stupid people who think killing dogs is cool, it is so not. What if you were that very same dog, and someone killed you with rat poisoning or some other deadly poison. Not only would that person get in an hell of a lot of trouble, but the owners would be horrified and extremely sad. why would you want to do that to them. Plus, it is a dogs nature to kill. They never used to be owned by humans, and that is how they survived. If they really are annoying then make your cats a fenced in area, or ask the owner of the dogs( kindly) to put up an electric fence. It really isn't that hard.

you are so right, animals deserve to have their own fate, no matter what stupid people like them think

As the offended non-dog owner, you have very little recourse. The police that are interested in helping you have their hands tied by having to witness the behavior, issue 900 warnings, etc. City laws may or may not support you, but they are hardly enforced, and when existing, barely enforcable.
In short, you are screwed.

The only recourse is to take it into your own hands.
1. If they let them run around loose, trap them in a cage. Most cities allow this specifically, and if they don't, they dont' disallow it specifically. If it has tags, take it to the police. If it doesn't, take it to the pound. If you aren't squeamish, take it to the woods.

2. If they are simply untrained, uncared for, etc., like most chronic barking dogs, you have to accept that they are quite insane. They have been robbed of the social structure they are evolved to exist in. That may take the form of hyperaggression, it may be clawing and whining all day...
In any case, they have grown past their formative years without proper socialization. They may be redeemable. They may not, or there may be no opportunity to, given the attitudes of an owner that would allow them to progress to this state. What to do here is a matter for your conscience to decide.

If you are comfortable with putting them out of their misery (and your own) poison them with common household items, not deadly poisons. Without a witness or any traceable evidence (like a credit card purchase for rat poison) the cops may know you did it, but the same hands that were tied in dealing with the dog owner are now tied in dealing with you.
Don't do this with a friend. Don't tell your kids or spouse. Don't tell ANYONE. Just do it.

What you are going to do is make a big hunk of toxic food that looks like a piece of dog feces. It will contain several toxins, each in itself maybe just short of enough to kill, but the entire toxicological mess of a cocktail will wreck its system quickly. It will not be painless (most poisons aren't), but it will be relatively quick.
Raisins, lots of them. cut them dice them, smash them with a rolling pin. Make a paste.
Parmesan cheese from your local pizza joint. Several packets. This makes an easily discernible smell for the dogs to find. It also adds a grainy texture that adds to your turd's realism.
Corn starch. Not much. Its a binder, keeps everything stuck together.
Caffeine pills and ibuprofen. If the ibuprofen is coated, scrape off the coating - you don't want traces of it in the food - it gives away the brand. Smash those all together into a very fine powder, no chunks. Dosage depends on dog weight (info is online everywhere).
Powdered cocoa. Discolors everything brown (obvious) and is toxic already to dogs. If you want to throw in some unsweetened baker's chocolate, all the better. The amount required for toxicity is quite a bit (also online).

Mix the powders.
Knead the raisin paste, cheese and baker's chocolate if you used it.
Knead in the powders. You will likely need to sprinkle a little water in it to make it workable.
In less than a minute you will have the consistency of a wet dog poop. If the color isn't quite right, roll it in a little more cocoa powder, but make sure it 'soaks in' rather than powders it. Make it look real. You aren't going to fool the dog - you need to fool the owner. (Chances are, he's not the type to clean up the dog poo anyway).

PUt it out there anytime, particularly if the dogs are inside and he's not thinking about his yard. Create a front yard distraction if you are worried about it. A pack of firecrackers should do it. If you must throw it to get it in the yard, freeze it first. That way it won't break apart midflight or on impact. At the slightest thaw the dogs will smell it and hone in. They'll even fight over it.

Enjoy your next few nights of sleep. It may not end there. There will likely be an aftermath.

Your neighbor that doesnt' care for his dogs is probably a 'real piece of work' to put it as nicely as I can. He might jack with you. He'll probably get 2 more puppies and leave them locked in the yard for the rest of their lives, mostly just to get back at you. Are you prepared for this? Can you really keep poisoning all these animals?


Learn the few tricks for lying without looking like you're lying. The cops know how to spot dishonesty - you should too. In a verbal confrontation, even your neighbor will know on a subconscious level if you're lying to him. Give him the visual, verbal, and expressive cues that you are telling truth, and he will have this 'feeling' that you aren't full of it.

Buy your supplies in cash, in a store you don't frequent, and don't use the brand that you might normally use. If they wanted to go after you for real, they will use your ownership of the base materials as circumstantial evidence. But what house doesn't have ibuprofen? You don't look suspicious if you have it, but the evidence is no good if you have a different brand.

I give the information in the hopes you don't have to resort to it, that you may have the patience to deal with it given the possible backlash, but also realizing that you may have no other choice and I despise the idea that good people are hogtied from fighting back against bad people. My grandfather lived in a small town, and told me that when he was growing up if anyone got out of line the old folks had a talk' with them. If that didn't work, or it was particulary egregious, they torched the offenders house and ran them out of town. It only had to happen twice as he recalled. I don't believe that would be good practice either, but we've swung too far the other way. Fight back with the law if you can, outside it if you can't.

As I see it.. an eye for an eye.. break a part of your fence down, put some bacon in your yard and once those little bastards come running in, get a gun (or a can of deoderant and a lighter) shoot their asses up or burn them all to hell. If my neighbour's dog hurt any of my animals, I'd kill theirs. My neighbour is a real asshole. He came to MY property and threatened my dog after his little brother got bit after coming into MY backyard. I told him the next time I see either of them, I'd shoot them without hesitation.
A man's got a right to defend his property.

yeah i think that rat poison can kill a dog but you can also try all your other medicens like tylenol

ok here is my story i live in apartment our next buidling witch is slow to me about 5 meters bought a dog and put it on the roof and it barks all night

i cant sleep from like 4 monthes i told them try to do somthing about the barking they seems they dont mind fucking my life

now i sleep like 2 -3 hours at night i go work feeling dizzy and headeche all the time

since iam in 3rd world country police wouldnt care what i feel

today i bought a rat poison and ill feed the dog in a meat

dont think iam a psycoo

acctualy iam a dog man i used to have a dog but a dog needs resposbilty not leaving it on a roof lonley and never take it on a walk

but i cant stand it any more

I have the same problem, I am from Germany and bought a house 2 years ago; one of my neighbours have two big german Schäferhunde which bark the whole night especially during full moon - like wolves so that I will waked up often during the night. The other neighbour leash his dog during the day directly beside my house so that you cannot lay on the balcony during the day for relaxing.
I learned one thing in my life; never argue with the neighbour who is owner of a dog, then you will have a war for the rest of your live but one is sure, if this idiots will not respect the common welfare, then their bloody dogs have to die.

contact animal control and/or the cops. Chances are they will go to court (it qualifies as destruction of property) and the courts may require they be put down

Complaining does not work, I complained about a dog that was let to run around the neighbourhood to be a nuisance. It would come to my property and bark at my dog through the fence and wake me at 6.30 am, that's when the dogs owner went to work and he would release it until he came home from work. I asked him to keep it restrained but he just arrogantly brushed off.

One day I called the pound after apprehending the nuisance dog on my property and the owner was fined. Weeks later as I was mowing my lawn the pissed off, and drunk owner (who was twice as big as me) attacked me and fractured my eye socket and knocked a tooth out, I ended up in hospital after being found unconscious, by a passer by, in my front yard

Even after the assault, (which could not be proven as he immediately got a fake alibI), I was harassed out of the neighbourhood ( I had to move), because all his friends and family backed him up and since I was new to the neighbourhood I didn't have much support. The police could do nothing even though they sympathised with me.

Where I live at the moment a CUNT of a woman and and her jack-Russell terrier moved in next door. The dog barks constantly and is the most aggressive thing you've ever come across. Asking her nicely hasn't worked (she just ignores me), calling the council hasn't worked.

As a result of my complaints my cars have been damaged, I've been threatened by people I've never met before (but are friends of the cunt next door), and who have also ridiculed me in passing, as lazy, for not wanting to get woken up early by her dogs.
I can't believe that I didn't learn from my first attempt by trying to be a lawful citizen all those years ago.

Not only has she not done anything regarding her dog, but she just purchased a second dog 6 months ago and has just added a cat (that shits under my window sill in the garden and kills native birds, which I have witnessed).

Do you think I am going to complain again??? Absolute fuckin' NOT! Why become a target for neanderthals??? Hit them where it hurts, if they love animals more than their human neighbours then they deserve to lose them. Fuck them, They can get fucked. I love animals, but badly trained animals (that merely reflect their owners personality) have no room in society!!! Full Fuckin' Stop. People who respect dogs more than their neighbours probably get knotted by their beloved pets on a regular basis!!!

I am the first to offer a lost or injured animal help. And often stop and pick them up from the side of the road. BUT IF A ANIMAL POSSE'S A THREAT TO FAMILY OR FRIEND (including friendly animals) I WILL ATTACK THE AGGRESSOR..... WITH THE INTENT TO KILL !!!!! and frankly, I don't give a damm what all the supermarket shoppers think.

First of all, if the dogs are out of the fenced yard then call animal control. With enough complaints they could start getting fined. If they killed your cat then report it to the police. Just like any animal dog or cat why was your cat outside a fenced area? You are responsible for your cats death. Mike Vick has paid for his crimes get off his back.

its true if the dog comes over to your side and attacks your cat. Call the police and your neighbor will be cited. Hell you can even sue him but it is hard to prove in court emotional attachment to a pet. Your best bet is just to kill the dog.
To all of those hating on the idea of killing the dog.... eat a d**k you would react the same if someones pit bull came into YOUR yard and tore your dog to bits.
 
I can empathize with you on these cats and dogs barking 24/7 but you need to remember people care more about their pets than their kids, and if you get caught you will get a felony and go to prison.

I just love listening to all of my neighbors dogs barking day and night. There are more dogs in my park than people, all of them feeling the need to have at least two dogs the size of a horse, barking constantly. Since the dog does not know he is driving some people crazy, it is the low life fuckers that own them and won't make them shut up that need to be controlled. Since they are all fenced in there is nothing i can do about the barking, not to mention the cats that walk on my car and leave their lovely prints.
 
Best way to look up information about things that are poisonous to dogs is to google "how to poison your dog" OR, the other way, "how to take care of your dog". Simple, no? Quite a few websites tell all the DOs and DON'Ts of keeping a dog, including what stuff should be kept away from the dog... Now, I don't know about painlessness, having suffered through a bunch of nights while listening to a dog bark, I read that xylitol and raisins are harmful to a dog, perhaps not lethal, but harmful.

Or, if possible, try to get the dog in your car, if it's a friendly dog, and go for a 200-mile roadtrip and simply leave the dog in the middle of nowhere. Do this once a month until all the dogs are relocated. No one will ever find them. Oh, and be sure to remove the collars, in case they contain a name or an address. Whether they live or die... well, it's up to the dogs and mother nature from that point on :)
 
Get at the root of the problem...

Might I suggest that you address the *root problem* and KILL YOUR NEIGHBORS....then you can farm out the dogs to RESPONSIBLE OWNERS...
