Negative effects of lowering car?

I would like to lower my 09 Accord. What are good brands of springs? I don't want a full suspension lowering or airbags because it's very expensive. I would like to go the cheap route and just get new springs. :]

Anyway, are there negative effects of lowering my car? It looks very cool.

Yes parts may rub and wear faster and without a camber kit and a fresh alignment your tires will not sit level on the ground and will wear through on the inside long before their usable life would normally run out. In the end you'll end up buying lots of tires. If you want to lower spend the money on a good kit, get a camber kit, and have your car aligned post lowering.

you can put a strain on the hubs, you'll need an alignment kit for sure.
If you buy a good kit like an Eibach, everything should be fine. they do a lot of engineering to make sure everything stays kosher and you get the performance & handling you want.

biggest negative is you'll scrape curbs, driveways, parking slots, etc...

it ruins the suspension, rattles every bolt loose, turns your ride into schitt... and last but not least, renders your selling market to only another kid, cause who wants a low rider after it's been rattled to pieces?...
