I just bought a new HP G60-235DX laptop computer. I installed ubuntu 8.10 as a dual boot partition 50/50 with windows vista (used for games) anyways, wireless works fine on windows, but i cant get wireless to recoginze on Ubuntu or internet of any kind, i tried running a command to set up a PPPoe connection and even that didnt work, no hardline internet connection works either.
It does recoginze my wireless driver and i found a solution to the wirelss problem: (http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-get-atheros-ar5007eg-or-ar242x-wireless-cards-may-be-other-models-working-in-ubuntu-810-intrepid-ibex.html). To fix it though, I need to download something and if I cant get online, I cant download something. This is incredibly annoying, I would like to learn to use ubuntu, help is greatly appreciated.
