We have recently adopted a 5 month old staff puppy one that has been mistreated a little bit .. Considering this she is very loving and is obedient with a few things for example; she never runs off, stays by your side when walking, comes when called, doesn't beg for food, will sit ( and now paw just taught ) on command... But over the last few days have noticed a few worrying signs firstly, everytime the door knocks she goes to bark .. She is obsessed with me and follows me everywhere, has separation anxiety ( barks , whines, excretes etc when left alone - longest period has only been two hours since Thursday ) also she edges in when we and my partner cuddle and yesterday jumped up when I picked my nephew up and tried to get in .. Shes nervous in front if children too she plays nervously jumps up etc which makes me nervous !
Ok, here's the biggest problem - I'm pregnant , two weeks away the baby has some health issues and we will be in hospital for a bit with my partner at work and visiting regularly ... I'm worried how shell cope alone, I dont want to give her to yet ANOTHER person to temporarily look after her else this will stress her more ideally I want her kept in her own house and of course I don't want her getting jealous of the baby as I'll have less time to spend with dog ( at minute it's all day as on maternity )
Amy tips to help minimise impact ... I realise we may not have thought this through and got dog at wrong time but hated seeing her being mistreated and followed heart rather than head ... hELp!!!!!!!
