NEXTEL USERS: What is the difference between "Delete Contact" and "Delete Number"?

I know how to delete contacts, but I want to know the difference between "Delete Contact" and "Delete Number" options.

delete number: deletes the number itself, but the name of the contacts remains, numberless.
delete contact: deletes the number and the name of the contact.

Delete contact will take the person out of your phone. Delete number will only take out their number but not them as a contact.
