Why do people say this? For example, a girl sees another girl and says, "She's pretty...no homo." I feel as though people who say this aren't secure with their sexuality.

It's because the people who say it are about 14 years old. They'll grow up eventually (I hope).
 
that's dumb. i ALWAYS comment on how pretty girls are. and i don't have to say 'no homo' for people to know that i'm just recognizing that they're pretty and not secretly hitting on them.
