No sound on my nokia 5300?

Hi. I have had my nokia 5300 for 1 year now, and for some reason, there is no sound coming from the phone. There is no vibration as well when someone rings me, and i carnt even listen to any music. it is not on mute or anything, and the volume is on max. i have tried turning it on and off, but it still doesnt work. please help! thank you.
