After a new phone but don't want to spend a fortune, I currently have a Nokia 6300.

I've always gone for Nokias as I've never had a problem with them in the past, I had a Motorola once and it was terrible.

The 6220 is $199 and the Jalou is $179

Does anyone have either of these phones or do any tech wiz's have an opinion on either of them.

Cheers

I too have always had Nokia phones, and I never had any significant problems. The Jalou's features seem to be too average. No highlights at all. Compared to the 6220, the Jalou is quite nothing. The 6220 is focused on imaging with a 5mp camera, the sweet Xenon flash that Nokia is very reluctant in putting on their phones, and a VGA recording at 30fps. For music, both do not have the standard 3.5mm audio jack (which is very inconvenient). I'd say the Symbian 6220 have more free application in the net you can download for free. For gprs and edge, the 6220 has the advantage on both.

If you find the $20 difference, I assure you that it won't be wasted.

I'm sure the 6220 is better. Only here are some drawbacks.

No Wi-Fi
Xenon flash placed under the lens
Uncomfortable shutter key
Cheap-looking keypad, and we mean dirty cheap
Display could have been bigger

If you want some alternatives, you can see the C5. The same form factor, better keypad, the standard 3.5mm audio jack, still no wifi, only 3.2 mp camera with dual led flash and ony 15fps in video recording, great battery life, and the price is near. See it at the second site shown below.

I hope this helps!
