Hi all,

I got a Nokia express music 5800 that my father in law was not using yesterday. It is my first smartphone and I am pretty impressed with it.

However the one thing I really want to get to work, I cannot seem to get to work.

I want to be able to listen to the internet streams of BBC radio. I downloaded the iplayer app from the Ovi store, but each time I navigate to a link to live stream a radio station, I get an "unable to connect" error.

I did a fresh update on the firmware last night. It is running software version 40.0.005.

I found a plug in that claimed to fix a DRM issue that affected iplayer on some Nokia phones, but that update was not available for the 5800.

I downloaded a stand alone internet radio app from the OVI store that worked well, but did not have most of the BBC stations I wanted, it only had international BBC content like BBC World Service, BBC Arabic news, etc (I suppose the BBC want to restrict the UK content to iPlayer only).

Im running the phone from a wifi network at home and a Linux desktop, a Linux netbook and a Macbook are all accessing this content on iPlayer fine.

I found this old thread on this forum, but it didn't seem to provide a clear solution:

Grateful for any new ideas.

cheers

Tom.
